Random, the king of the top lane in an interview

Author : Kels le 1 Oct. 2023

While the soloQ seasons may come and go with a sense of déjà vu for him, our top lane prodigy, Random, graciously granted us a few minutes to discuss various topics. We delved into his personal journey, reflecting on his past victories, and also explored the future of the Justice League team.

La Faille Sauvage: Random! What a pleasure to have you here. Can you give a quick introduction for those who might be discovering you today?

Random: Well, hello everyone! I'm Matthieu Hanny, aka Random. I'm 23 years old, French, and I've been playing competitively in the Baron Lane since the beginning of the game. My signature champions are split-pushers, mainly Camille & Fiora!

La Faille Sauvage: You mentioned playing in the top lane. Has it always been your preferred position?

Random: Well, on PC, yes, it has always been, but in my previous MOBA, no, I played ADC!

La Faille Sauvage: Everyone wonders the same question: how do you manage to stay in the top of EUW in solo Q for so long?

Random: To stay at the top, there's no secret, you have to play, but especially know how to carry. Ranked on Wild Rift is not known for its quality, so don't expect much from others 😂

La Faille Sauvage: We saw you with the Justice League team in the Clash of the Rift #1 and #2, which you brilliantly won. Can we get some news about the roster? Is it still the same, or should we expect changes for the upcoming competitions?

Random: We plan to keep roughly the same roster, if not exactly the same, but it's still to be confirmed.

La Faille Sauvage: You won the first two editions of the Clash of the Rift. Which opponents gave you the most trouble in these two editions?

Random: Personally, I would say Finalwax's team, but I'll give a shoutout to DVZ2 who surprised us in a BO!

La Faille Sauvage: And personally, in the top lane, who is the player who gives you the most trouble or whom you enjoy facing?

Random: In the Clash of the Rift, Finalwax without a doubt. More generally, I would say L3on for those who remember. The most creative (or maybe crazy) player I've ever played against. It's impossible to predict his next move, a real nightmare!

La Faille Sauvage: What is your best memory as an Esports player on Wild Rift?

Random: Good question, hard to say. I would probably opt for the LAN in Valencia, which was really cool, not so much in terms of performance but in terms of atmosphere! Purely in gameplay, probably a move with Darius where I got a quadra kill in 1 second, it doesn't get more satisfying than that.

La Faille Sauvage: I'll leave you with the last word!

Random: Thank you for having me today for this interview. Big shoutout to you guys, keep doing what you're doing, it's on point 👌
